Preparation and Documents
It is very important that you have all of the documents completely prepared and organized so that the London process server can immediately get started, or to avoid any misunderstandings.
This is another reason, why you need to download the Court Runner APP! This is a process serving app that will not only help you stay organized but will also get you the process server you need in London to serve the recipient party quickly and accessibly. All of our charges are explicitly shown, and we have a wide network of vetted and verified process servers that are ready to help you at a moment’s notice.
If you have all your documents ready (i.e. relevant documents, court file number or case number), then you can move onto the step of actually hiring the process server (or downloading Court Runner).
The APP will match you with reliable process servers in London that will serve your legal documents. Once the other party have been served, you will receive the Affidavit of Service (AOS) accordingly. The AOS is a document that proves the concerned parties have indeed received all required documents to set due legal procedures in motion.
With almost all process servers, you will have the option of additionally paying them to file the affidavit for you; through Court Runner, you can request an electronic copy for when they file it, so you’ll also have your own to refer to whenever you need!
London process server fees vary according to the vendor , but a general starting price is around $120 for 2 attempts, with an additional $15 for each additional attempt made. Most process server agencies will not charge mileage inside London but will start charging return mileage once they hit the outskirts – so you absolutely need to keep track of how far you’ll be sending them out.
Beyond the standard delivery fee, you’ll also need to consider the additional services. These can range from a skip trace to track the person down, to a simple set of copies of the documents that you can keep for yourself and hand over to anyone who needs them. With the higher prices in the London area, you can count on some of these services being included (copy services here often are).
With the Court Runner, you only pay $60 for service plus whatever it cost mileage and photocopies (if you email the documents)

What If the Party can’t be served?
This is something that is bound to happen. People can be unpredictable on the best of days, so there will be times when even professional London process servers won’t be able to serve them with the documents.
In these cases, depending on the attempts, you will be notified, and due action will be taken. If this is the first attempt of several, then you would have to make another attempt to serve the receiving party. If this was the last agreed-upon attempt, then the process server will fill out an Affidavit of Attempted Service (ATS) — explaining that they did everything in their power to try and serve the documents). This ATS document will be notarized. After that, you will have to take the ATS to the court for further action.
Court Runner keeps track of it all, and notifies you in case of attempt failure, letting you know what we need from you in order to keep the ball rolling, or set things back on track for follow-up attempts. We also offer skip tracing (locate services) in cases where the receiving party can’t be located.
